Winners announced!

More than 300 local authority professionals from 50+ organisations gathered on 5 November at the Titanic Hotel, Liverpool to celebrate the very best in local government workplace practice.

LGC Workforce showcased how projects came together, the brilliant minds behind them, the challenges they overcame, and most importantly, the outcomes they achieved and the difference they have made for their authority.

The awards, including best next generation employer and best wellbeing innovation, were presented by Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Royal Variety performer, comedian, writer and creator, Daliso Chaponda including the prestigious Best Place to Work award which was taken home by Salford City Council.

LGC editor Sarah Calkin said: “It has been genuinely inspiring to hear about all the great work going on to recruit, retain and develop the public servants that will deliver the vital services we all rely on in our places. I want to congratulate all of those on the shortlist for your significant achievements.” Four of the awards were judged live on the day of the event with delegates able to hear first hand from shortlisted councils. Ms Calkin added: “To those that have presented today thank you for taking to the stage to share your experiences, ideas and innovations. It’s what this event is all about.”
